Temperature Display Problems
If you are having trouble viewing the temperature, there are a few steps to take to determine where the problem is.
A few general considerations – The temperature reading does not appear on the chlorophyll charts, or when you are using the loop tool. It is only when you are viewing a specific SST chart. The temperature shows only when you PAUSE the cursor over an area of the chart with color, it doesn’t show when the cursor is over land, clouds cover, coastline, or the gridlines. The temperature will display in the custom status bar at the bottom of the screen, after the lat/lon coordinates. If you still have are not seeing the temperature, check the settings below.
Internet Explorer Settings
- From the browser menu (upper right corner of the browser) select "Tools"
- Select "Internet Options"
- On the Internet Options dialog click on the "Security" tab.
- Click the "Custom Level" button
- This displays a long list of options. Scroll down to the section referring to Active X controls. There are 2 settings that should be enabled. The first is "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins" The second is "Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting." If either of these options are disabled, click on the "Enable" option.
- Click the OK button to save your changes.
- When you return to view the chart you will may need to refresh the page, or just close the website and then go back in.
